At first glance, I passed right by it, didn’t even jot it down on the wish list. Then I looked at the set and saw that I could use it for Mother’s & Father’s Day cards, birthday cards and encouragement cards. Once I started to see the versatility, I had to have it. This stamp set provides so many background pieces to create whatever look you are going for.
The card above is the standard A2 size, I used Night of Navy for the card base. I cut a strip of Whisper White at 3 inches by 5.5 inches to create the background. To create the buildings, I stamped the image onto Smokey Slate and cut them out, I stamped the buildings a few times and fussy cut them…. I know… I saw you crinkle your nose when I said fussy cut. Although there is no die, this is quite easy to cut. I created the girl by stamping all the different parts onto Whisper White. It was so fun, I chose the flying body with the cape in the air and the girl head. This builder set is so fun, you can create the figure doing various positions. I used the new Stampin Up Water Color pencils to color her hair, skin and outfit.
This card is simple but so adorable. I love this sentiment, perfect for anyone who has done a great job or even for a mother’s day card. I created the background with the main image which is one of my favorite background techniques. I stamped Sweet Sugarplum ink onto Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, subtle and easy to create. I used the Sweet Sugarplum ink and an aquapainter to color in the cape. It’s hard to see, but I used the Wink of Stella Pen over it when it tried… and Yes, I am addicted to my Wink of Stella and YES, if you get a card from me you should expect to see some slathered all over the card.
