Have you ever been flipping through the Stampin’ Up! catalog and turn the page and think, “Where have you been all my stamping life?” That happened to me! On page 31 of the annual catalog I saw the Coffee Break Suite and it stopped me in my tracks. I give so many coffee gift cards, I knew I had to have this bundle. I could see all the different gift card holders and card ideas in my head. What I love about Stampin’ Up! is they offer suites which takes all the guesswork out of crafting. They do all the work for me, they offer the stamp set, coordinating dies, adorable paper, cute embellishments and even ribbon that coordinates. Just what this busy mom needs!
Another reason I love Stampin’ Up is that they often offer additional stamp sets that might fit an existing bundle…. Wouldn’t you know, in this years holiday catalog, they came out with the Merry Cafe set! Oh, the happiness that came over me when I saw this stamp set. You can check it out in this years Holiday Catalog on page 17. It’s the cutest, right? Look at the versatility- for only $17 you can make gift card holders and cards for Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall, Christmas and Valentines Day. What a fantastic value. Check out some of my projects below!
My favorite 3D project with the Merry Cafe set is creating drink packet holders. This is the perfect simple gift you can give to a co-worker, neighbor or teacher with a gift card inside. It’s simple to create the pocket, first you cut an A2 size card vertically (4.25 inches x 8.5 inches) and fold it in half, glue the sides and punch out the half circle shape on top with any circle or oval punch. Boom, you have a pocket where you can slide in an apple cider packet, a hot cocoa packet, just about anything. I used the Merry Cafe stamp set with the Coffee Cups Framelits die set to create this drink packet holder.
In this next photo, I made two different gift card holders. The top project is a little box made with two 6 x 6 papers folder and and adhered on three sides. The top remains open where you can put in treats and a gift card. The smaller gift card holder is made lies flat with a belly band. Both of these feature the Coffee Break Designer Series paper. Did you know on the back of the designer series paper pack, it lists all the Stampin’ Up! colors used? I don’t think they can make it any easier for me to create beautiful projects.
This coffee card is a traditional A2 sized card. If you notice, I only used half of the sentiment making this card a go-to for any occasion. If you’ve been to one of my stamp camps, you know how much I love coloring. Stampin’ Up! offers so many fun ways to color in stamps and really bring your creativity out. On the coffee cup lid, I used the crumb cake light blends pen. Once I finished coloring it, I brushed some Wink of Stella over it to make it glimmer. I also used the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend to color the rhinestones. Did you know you can color the basic rhinestones and basic pearls with the Stampin’ Blends? Cool, right? Next, to give the cup a soft look I used the sponge dipped in Stampin’ Up! Powder Pink ink and sponged more ink on the bottom than used less ink on top to have the color gradually fade. Finally, used the Brayer Tool and Crumb Cake ink to color the doily behind the cup.
I hope you enjoyed learning about these projects and feel inspired to make your own. Now, hurry and place your order now while you still can. The Holiday catalog ends on January 2, 2018, and the Merry Cafe set will be gone! Happy crafting and see you soon.
